BRUSSELS -- A British member of the European Parliament (MEP), Baroness Emma Nicholson, criticized as "disgraceful" the recent warmongering statements made by Zionist Prime Minister Ariel Sharon against Iran.

"I was dismayed by Prime Minister Sharon's demand that if military action is taken against Iraq, it should be followed by military action against Iran" "The policy of dual containment was disastrous and Sharon's reversion to it is disgraceful," Baroness Nicholson told IRNA in Brussels on Wednesday.

Last week, a German member of the European Parliament, Jannis Sakellariou, condemned Sharon.

"I expect from Sharon every criminal thought and reflection that is possible. It is absolutely foolish to say something like that," Sakellariou told IRNA.

Another British MEP, Bashir Khanbhai, also castigated Sharon.

"I am against any war on the Iraqi people. The UN must resolve the issue with the Iraqi government. Therefore, Sharon has no business to dictate to the U.S. or UK government about extending the war to Iran," Khanbhai told IRNA.

In an interview with the British daily 'The Times' last week, Sharon said that if military action is taken against Iraq it should be followed by military action against Iran.
